I am honored to serve as a member of the Newington Board of Education. I am committed to making sure that our educators and staff receive the resources necessary to provide a top-notch education – meeting academic as well as emotional needs. I recognize that our schools provide so much more than the 3 R’s, especially post-pandemic. Our kids are hurting, and our schools need to be a safe and supportive space.

I have lived in Newington for over 25 years. My husband and I chose Newington because we quickly realized that our town is a wonderful place to raise a family. We were excited about town services, beautiful parks, our wonderful library, and especially, our excellent schools. Our 2 children are both graduates of Newington High. It has been a great privilege to give back to the community that has given so much to us. It is vitally important that all Newington students are able to benefit in the same way that my family has.

I am a long-time community volunteer. I served for 15 years as a member of the Board of Directors of the Newington Education Foundation, awarding thousands of dollars in mini-grants, which have supported many students and educators in all of our public schools. In addition, I am a past commissioner of the Newington Economic Development Commission, as well as a past officer of the Newington Lions Club.

I am a proud UCONN grad. I work as an optical manager for an independent optometry practice. In my professional life, I am keenly aware of the many challenges faced delivering exemplary care while managing a budget responsibly.

I am committed to working hard in order to provide the best education possible for our students. I will support a sensible budget that meets the needs of our educators and staff. I will fight to make sure that our schools are inclusive, and a place of learning and respect for all.
