It has been an honor to serve these past four years as a member of the Board of Fire Commissioners for the Town of Newington.  During this time my priority has been to maintain and enhance the overall safety and readiness of the Newington Volunteer Fire Department.  This includes obtaining a new apparatus, establishing a permanent building committee and seeing the NVFD receive an Insurance Service Office Class 2 rating – the only department in Connecticut to receive this high rating.

I have lived in Newington since the early 1960’s and graduated from Newington High School in 1971.  Early on my desire to help my community took hold;  I was a member of the police explorers, I was  the youngest person to join the Newington Volunteer Ambulance and I was member of the Newington Volunteer Fire Department for sixteen years.  I served on the board of Newington Emergency Medical Services for fifteen years, including a number of years as President.  Currently I am the President of the Newington Veteran Firefighter Association.

My commitment to safety, security and community continued to develop and grow over the years through my professional career as a Firefighter and EMT at Pratt & Whitney.  I spent 33 years as a professional firefighter and EMT. The position also allowed me to continue my community service work as a “loaned executive” with the United Way.

I am honored to be endorsed again for this position and look forward to continuing to serve the residents of Newington.
